 Chapter Activities

Our chapter has 77 members currently, and we are a busy chapter. Last year we accomplished the following:

  • 2023 saw us celebrating the Algonquin Chapter, NSDAR's, 125th Anniversary. 90 members, guests and dignitaries gathered on May 11, 2023 to help us celebrate at the Shadowland Ballroom and Silver Beach Carousel.
  • The Algonquin Chapter, NSDAR, works closely with the Benton Harbor Veterans Administration Clinic. We donate needed items, serve refreshments for various activities and make Christmas gifts for the Veterans.
  • Our current conservation project is through the Berrien County Road Commission and their Adopt A Road program. In the past 9 months we have picked up 25 garbage bags full of litter.
  • Through participation in the DAR American History Essay Contest and the Patriots of the American Revolution Contest we are promoting patriotic education in our schools.
  • The chapter is involved in several public events throughout the year including local parades and displays. This year will be at the Lest We Forget weekend event and also the Berrien County Youth Fair.
